1. Why should I use a Whys Logistics solution for my warehousing and distribution?

Outsourcing has many benefits including:

  • Freeing up valuable production space

  • Allowing you to concentrate on your core discipline (product development, marketing, sales, etc.)

  • Reduces capital expenses (building, fixtures, machinery &equipment)

  • Costs are relative to the space and services used and increase or decrease in direct proportion to your business activity


2. What targets does Whys Logistics set for order processing?

Whys Logistics has a target to process orders received by 2 pm the same day. This means orders will be with the transport operator that same afternoon or early the next morning. Delivery expectation is for delivery Auckland metro late that same day or next day. Other North Island destinations with 1-2 working days and South Island delivery times are 2 – 3 working days. Saturday deliveries are available on request.


3. What IT Solutions can Whys Logistics offer to assist client’s business needs?

Whys Logistics utilises a “state of the art” WMS system and employs integration modules to ensure the efficient and accurate receipt of order data to enhance the order picking process. We can handle multiple EDI formats ranging from the simplistic (.csv files) through to complex EDI formats (x12, XML) and can supply API modules to assist in the development of this integration.


4. What other IT Solutions does Whys Logistics use to increase the efficiency of their service.

Whys Logistics maintain integrated links to transport operators to send consignment note details and receive tracking updates. This data is available to clients through a dedicated login on our website here.

6. Are my goods insured while stored with Whys Logistics?

All goods are stored at “Owners Risk”. Clients need to arrange insurance for any loss. Refer here to our Terms and Conditions.


7. How secure is the Whys Logistics warehouse

Motion sensors detect any unusual movement during non-operating hours. Our facility’s security systems are monitored by an offsite 24-hour service.


8. What are Whys Logistics operating hours?

To coincide with transport operations, Whys Logistics Receiving and Delivery area is open Monday to Friday, from 7.00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. However, orders are processed outside those hours to meet targets.


9. What is the difference between 3PL & 4PL?

Simplistically 3PL handles your warehousing and arranges your distribution. A 4PL handles your whole supply chain, taking responsibility for legal and managerial decisions, issuing invoices and other documentation and administration of inventory control.


10. Would 3PL/4PL Work for Me?

3PL/4PL is the preferred option for a growing number of enterprises, and is of greatest benefit for those businesses with a medium to high turnover, and stock holdings of more than 20 pallets.
